“A little thought and a little kindness are often worth more than a great deal of money” – John Ruskin

Money Money Money !!! The world is going crazy after it. Everything has become secondary today in front of these pieces of paper. ‘Love’, is something we all search for, we all look for, and we all crave for. But I am confused with the present state of affairs where love, relations, friendship and even being together is directly proportional to money. People killing family members, friends, relatives, husband/wives for money (sometimes even for a very meagre amount).

I agree, money is important, rather very important in life, but it is not the ‘only’ thing or consideration to be with someone. I have seen girls making rich boyfriends for money, for expensive gifts and so on. And the day they stop spending money on them..well, end of the relationship. People who are so called ‘rich’, keep relation with those who match their financial status and look down upon or ignoring those who are below them in terms of money. Relations make or break with the amount of money someone holds in his pocket.

It has always amused me. Isn’t it strange? People have become so money minded, their wishes and desires have become so high and all they want is just money or be in contact with people who have it with them. Relationships, love, feelings, empathy are all things of the past now. Everything is losing their true value and meaning from the hearts of the people. All the things required to be called human vanish when it is about money. These words are dying a miserable death under those stacks of paper.

I am a believer in love. I don’t remember making friends or even talking to people in general based on their financial status. Money has always been secondary to me. Even when I think about marriage, money is never the prime factor. I guess I am educated enough to earn. I also don’t believe that only a man is responsible to feed his family. If a girl has earning capacity, then she can very well support a family after marriage on her own. When we cry so much for gender equality, then why not equality here?

It’s a very weird society we live in. I never understood this mindset of people based on money. Many won’t accept this fact but it is a bitter reality. Have our desires become so big, have our lifestyle and wishes reached to that level that we forget everything and remember just money? Money corrupts mind and a corrupted mind is never sane.

Money can buy a lot of things but not love and feelings. Can’t we all think of keeping the relationship alive in our hearts irrespective of the money someone has in his pocket or bank account?  Can’t we love and respect a person for what and how he is and keep aside his financial status? Can we stop the mental torture someone has to go through just because he doesn’t have what is required to be called ‘rich’? Can’t we value people over money? When we will understand money is just a piece of paper, we have it today; we may not have it tomorrow. People, if we value them, will be always with us, but not money. Better to invest time and feelings in humans rather than a piece of paper. Having a rich and a big heart is all what matters.

Waiting to see the time when we stop the ‘it’s all about money, honey’ thing.

“Money has never made man happy, nor will it; there is nothing in its nature to produce happiness. The more of it one has, the more one wants.”  - Benjamin Franklin

Quotations are a gateway for the dreamers; breath to the lovers; hope to the hopeless; affirmation to the faithful; a reminder to the disillusioned; and a beacon to the wandering." - Anonymous

I have always enjoyed reading quotes a lot since I was a child. I always had some or the other diary where I used to write the quotes I loved. Some of those I lost (I don’t know where). I still have one with me and sharing 50 of my favourite quotes.

ME

I really feel all these years have made me forgot the real me. All this time I have tried my best to make people happy, to understand them, to be what they want me to be just because I valued them and wanted them to be with me ( I won’t claim that I did that 100%, I may have ended up failing a few times, but I am sure that wasn't deliberate). I feared losing them (that’s the biggest fear I always had, the fear of being alone).

I realized in the process of valuing others and pleasing them, the real me got lost somewhere. It makes me think when I see people with clear thoughts and ideas; about things they believe or not believe in, about what they want, what they feel about a certain issue or thing. But me, I am just lost thinking what exactly my views are? Can I really take a stand on something I believe in (for that I need to find what I actually believe in). This is what happened, I ended up being a confused soul.

I made many mistakes, like most of us do (side effect of being human). Like others I was also not sent here with an instruction book to follow and live accordingly. Yes, I made a crime of not learning from my mistakes initially and I kept repeating a few over and over again. Result. Same pain, same suffering and yes, it hurts more each time.

Finally I grew up, learnt to say “NO”, (trust me; this is by far the most difficult thing for me to do). I started to hurt people (I don’t know intentionally or unintentionally), reason, well!! I was hurt too the same way, I too felt bad, but did anyone care? No. So why should I? And it stopped to bother me. I tried to be bad as subconsciously I felt good people are bound to suffer, I tried but that little goodness in me sometimes didn’t let me do it and sometimes the bad side took over. I knew not what I wanted to do or what actually my intentions were? When anyone says I am good, nice, sweet et al, I feel, do I actually deserve these words? Am I really what people think me to be? No clue. As it is yet for me to find out. Yes, I have a habit of underestimating myself terribly too, don’t know what my correct estimate could be.

I am not perfect, nor do I intend to be. I have my share of weaknesses and I sometimes find it very difficult to accept them (ego, may be), though from inside I know what they are. I carry, regrets, pain, lots of burden in my heart and mind. A lot of habits I want to improve and want to succeed in winning over them.

I truly want to find out exactly who 'Richa' is and what it is she believes in. I know I am still acting like a confused soul. Well, I wish I will succeed one day and discover myself completely. Till then, trying to be happy with a messed up mind and heart.

“Fear is a question: What are you afraid of, and why? Just as the seed of health is illness, because illness contains information, your fears are a treasure house of self-knowledge if you explore them.”
-Marilyn Ferguson

There are a thousand things we are afraid of in life. Fear of change, failure, fear of losing someone, rejection, death, life, taking decisions and the worst, fear of the unknown. I feel we are our worst enemies when it comes to fear. These fears if not checked at the right time can destroy our lives. Small fears we face in our daily lives tend to become too big with time.

Some fears may appear to be very small and unsubstantial, but they add up eventually and we don’t realize what mess we create of ourselves. These surely need to be checked. We all are afraid of something or the other, sometime we face it and sometimes we find ways to run from it. Every fear we cultivate within ourselves actually takes from us the joy of living. Why can’t we take them one by one? Big or small.

-          - The best thing we can do is to first define our fears and look for the source of their origin.

-         -  We can introspect, how life would have been, had we not fear something; I am sure life would seem way better.

-         - Trusting yourself is the best way to overcome any fear. Keep moving forward and never lose patience.

-         - We many a times fail to enjoy the smallest of our successes. We need to find a reason to be happy, to celebrate, to feel inspired and motivated and feel positive about ourselves.

-         - The best thing that can help one feel better and strong is by lending a helping hand to someone in need. This is something that can add up to one’s confidence in a great way.

Fears should never be kept into dark and should never be left unchecked or untouched. It can really be killing from inside living with a fear each day and each moment. So better try to work through it. Be brave, be fearless.

“I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.”
- Frank Herbert

Ek rishta kuch aisa,
Andekha anjana sa

Ansuna par fir bhi pehchana sa,
Begana sa hote hue bhi lagta kuch apna sa.

Patjhad me bhi hari pattiyo ko talashta hua,
Anjaani in rahon me apne hi nishan banata hua

Duniya ki bheed me, Parchhaiyo k jahan me,
Apne wajood ko tarashta hua.

Har mushkil sehta hua, har gum baant ta hua,
Duniya ki har buri nazar se khud ko bachata hua.

Anjam se bekhabar,aant se anjaan,
Dil ke kisi kone me chupke se panapta hua.

Na kisi ke apnane ki fikar,
Na kisi ke thukrane ka dar,
Apni hi dhun me khoya sa muskata hua.

Ek rishta kuch aisa,
Andekha anjana sa
